Dystopik Snomen (Vol. 2)

This comic strip had its debut in a collegiate newspaper in 1991. The setting is a place called Dystopia and centers around the daily frustrations of life in a modern urban environment populated with sad, bizarre people. This potpourri of one-page, three-act scenes such as a variation of the Sisyphus myth juxtaposed with a rabbit escaping earth’s gravity tweaks its nose at the traditional comic format. Incorporating backward Ks and Rs in the lettering could be interpreted as a stroke of unabashed genius or a cruel inside joke. The reader who does not relish random violence, handguns, pop philosophy, and street vernacular which could put their mother in a grave would be missing something completely out of the ordinary.
