The Mask of Zorro

Writer Don McGregor and artist Ron Wagner provide a very faithful adaptation of the Tri-Star motion picture of the same name in this four-issue limited series from Image Comics. Like the film starring Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas, the comic book retells the origin of the Southwestern “hero-of-the oppressed” in grand style. As a bonus, readers are treated to color photos from the movie, as well as a fairly detailed look at how McGregor and Wagner adapted the comic book story from the film’s shooting script. All in all, it is a very nice package and certainly a cut above many modern movie adaptations.
