In the technological nightmare of the future, everything is controlled by the government, right down to the lifespan of the populace. Normal citizens get to live 40 years, which doesn’t seem so bad when you consider that most of the work is done by clones, who are only allowed 400 days before being terminated. One such clone, known as the Anomaly, escapes that fate, and his flight brings him in contact with a massive underground movement (literally) that seeks to free humanity. It’s not hard for the Anomaly to agree to help… especially when he falls in love with the beautiful rebel who rescued him.

Most technological futures are presented as fairly grim and depressing, and this one is no exception. However, a sharp wit and numerous light-hearted elements in both story and art make this a fairly cheerful nightmarish future. Smartly written by Alexandro Jodorowsky and beautifully drawn by Fred Beltran.
