Not much has changed in the manga version of the Masaki halfway house for unemployable aliens. (Fabulous babes, welcome.)

Like its source material, the manga tends to alternate between big space storylines and smaller ones focusing on domestic comedy. This one falls into the latter category, as Hitoshi Okuda recycles characters and situations from the anime. (Here, it’s a renegade android, Washu, instead of Ryoko who causes trouble before being accepted into the Tenchi “family.”)

Both the laughs and lessons are entirely too glib, but the stories are entertaining enough because the creator does a fine job of capturing the spirit of the characters, enabling their fans to enjoy a visit from long-absent anime friends.
