The commercial tug Electra is caught in a storm that necessitates dumping her ten million dollar cargo. The amoral and sometimes incompetent captain is extremely pleased. Then, while trying to get back on course, his crew finds a Chinese research vessel adrift and fully equipped with valuable electronics. But when the Electra’s crew attempts to salvage the vessel, they come upon a ghastly scene: the entire crew of the Chinese ship is dead, either having been brutally murdered or having taken their own lives in desperation. Worse, the equipment on board seems to have a mind of its own. Strange accidents soon kill or wound two of the ship’s new visitors, sinking the Electra in the process.

Trapped on a derelict ghost ship, the Electra’s crew begins to discover the ship’s dark secret—a secret so horrible that the Red Chinese are ready to bomb their own ship to keep it hidden. A secret known as Virus.
