Reminiscent of the classic Marvel What If…? titles, this mini-series presents readers with a reinterpretation of the story of the Avengers, told with a fantasy twist.

The kingdom of Avalon is a medieval world with a Tolkien-esque setting. The saviors of this land are the Defenders of the Realm, a group of heroes gathered from throughout the land by King St’Vann to protect the people of Avalon. When the queen is murdered and the king’s infant son is kidnapped, the call goes out to Champions past and present to rescue the young prince and to vanquish the enemies of Avalon once and for all.
