Giantkiller

In 1999, a slumbering volcano in Southern California known as Mount Diablo was awakened when struck by a meteor from space. Its eruption—which spawned an inhospitable land of ash clouds, acid lakes, and poison gases—was horrible enough, but the giant monsters that lumbered out of the fiery ruins were even worse. Three years later, with much of California a treacherous wasteland at the mercy of creatures that are gradually expanding their boundaries, humanity is at last able to fight back. Their weapon? A monstrous, human-alien hybrid…a hybrid created by a Japanese-American scientist who gives it a samurai sword and calls it “Yochu.” And although his given name is Jack, the warrior creature will soon become better known, his creators hope, by yet another name: Giantkiller.

Written and painted by Dan Brereton, this series creates a near future where humanity is suddenly and terrifyingly thrust into Hell. Published monthly by DC Comics.
