Just Imagine Stan Lee With John Byrne Creating Robin
(DC, 2002)
™ and ©2002 DC Comics
Marvel Universe co-creator Stan Lee collaborates with ‘80s superstar artist John Byrne on this alternate world version of Batman’s teen sidekick Robin. The book is part of a series of one-shots in which Lee reworks DC Comics characters if he had created them himself. In this tale, Robin is left at an orphanage; however, no parents ever want him so he is stuck there until he becomes an adult. Once on his own, Robin becomes a martial-arts instructor. He eventually meets a mysterious hooded figure, Reverend Darrk, who promises to reunite him with his parents if he commits crimes. After witnessing Robin trying to rob a bank, Batman helps Robin wake up from Darrk’s evil spell.
