Lidsville
(Gold Key, 1972-1973)
™ and © Western Publishing Company, Inc.
From the creative minds of HR Pufnstuf comes another seemingly drug-induced fantasy show from Sid and Marty Krofft. References to illegal substances aside, this charming show featured costumed characters that looked like hats or “lids,” and hence the name. There’s a football player that looks like a giant helmet and a cowboy who looks like a cowboy hat. You get the idea. Eddie Munster, I mean Butch Patrick, falls into a giant hat and gets stuck in this land and is tormented by Charles Nelson Reilly as the evil Whoo Doo, complete with green face and bright orange hair. The comic book follows this same concept and has some nifty color photo covers.
