The Little Mermaid (Disney’s…)

Disney’s version of the classic fairy tale “The Little Mermaid” told of how a young mermaid named Ariel fell in love with a sailor. She then made a deal with a witch to allow her to become a normal woman for a time so that she could be with him. But there was a catch: Ariel would lose the use of her beautiful voice, and would have to win the sailor’s love as a mute.
An immense success in its film version, it was inevitable that Ariel and her friends would make their way to comics. In 1994, Marvel produced this series in conjunction with Disney. It chronicles the Little Mermaid’s adventures undersea with Sebastian the crab, Flounder, Urchin and other friends (the sailor is strangely absent).
