Goofy Adventures

In June, 1990, Disney launched a major expansion of its comic publishing efforts, introducing six new titles and taking over direct control of other long-running titles such as Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories. Along with titles like Chip ’n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, Mickey Mouse Adventures, and Roger Rabbit, Disney’s Goofy got his own comic title (as did his heroic alter ego Super Goof) for the first time since 1962. Goofy Adventures also marked the first time that Disney had ever published a Goofy title of its own. Prior to this point, other companies had published stories featuring the “Goof Pooch” under a license from Disney. Nedor Publishing Company published Goofy Comics from 1943 to 1953. Dell Publishing took over after that and published Goofy from 1953 to 1962.

Goofy Adventures premiered in 1990 and lasted seventeen issues until it was canceled in October of 1991.
