Former police officer Jake Cardigan made only one mistake, but it was a big one. He got addicted to TEK—a sort of virtual reality technology that makes your wishes seem to come true. When the TEK lords no longer wanted him around, they simply framed him and Jake ended up in a cryogenic prison. It took his best friend Sid Gomez four years of pulling strings and collecting favors to get him out.

Gomez needs a partner in his business as a private eye and Jake Cardigan is perfect for the job. His investigative and crime fighting skills come naturally, but then so does putting on the TEK headgear and chips and fading into a fantasy world…

Created by Star Trek actor William Shatner, this series gives a unique and futuristic twist to the classic private eye story. It also appeared as a series of books and a TV show.
