Once Eddie Brock was one-half of the macabre entity named Venom that, together with an alien symbiote, plagued Spider-Man. Later, in Venom: Lethal Protector, he became something of a sympathetic figure. Now separated from the oozing black liquid symbiote by the fiendish Dr. Paine, Brock is an addict with a serious case of withdrawal.

Dr. Paine wants to study the symbiote by itself—away from Brock. The physical and emotional nature of his addiction to the alien propels Brock to levels of furious physical capability that is more than sufficient to overcome everything from an exploding warehouse and biker toughs to Dr. Paine and his goons. You might think of this series as the heartwarming story of a boy and his symbiote.
