The newspapers cover the Strand killings; a serial killer that stalks London dismembering women. An occult group plans to liberate one of their number from an asylum and an immortal named Darkness seems quite dissatisfied with modern civilization. These storylines are destined to be intertwined but the dark and moody art requires a meticulous analysis.

Strand is the title feature in what is otherwise an anthology book. Other stories concern a ghost that resides is a graveyard witnessing the recently dead cry for help and a day in the life of a paranoid woman.
