Bat-Thing
(Amalgam, 1997)
™ and ©1997 Marvel Characters, Inc. and DC Comics
Dr. Kirk Sallis used himself as a guinea pig for his genetic experiments, thinking a gene splice could cure him of a terminal illness. Instead, the gene splice—along with an unfortunate encounter with toxic sludge—turned him into a swamp creature that was part man, and part bat. Enter Bat-Thing!
This character was one of several introduced in the second round of Amalgam comics in mid-1997. A combination of Marvel’s Man-Thing and DC’s Man-Bat, this hideously mutated monster lurks in the shadows while trying to protect the lives of his wife and daughter from a mobster and a crazed motorcycle gang.
