Spider-Man Special Edition

In Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, Spider-Man was given a special black costume which was later revealed to be an alien symbiote. When Spider-Man rejected its bonding, it sought out another host, Eddie Brock. Together, they became Venom, a mad killer and one of Spider-Man’s most deadly enemies.

As this story begins, Venom was safely locked up in the Vault, a prison for super-villains. One day, guards found Brock alone in his cell, the symbiote apparently dead. Since the symbiote was the one who had driven Brock to commit the murders, Brock was entitled to a new trial. Moreover, Matt Murdock (secretly Daredevil) was his attorney. Should Brock go free? Or is there something more here than meets the eye?

This 1992 special edition was given out as part of a promotion for Unicef, the United Nations Children’s Fund.
