Ms. Tree was a popular detective-adventure comic by Max Collins and Terry Beatty. The Collins-Beatty team produced many works, but Ms. Tree was their best-known creation. A popular crime-novel writer, Max Collins, gave the Ms. Tree stories an edge focusing them on real-life issues like abortion and child molestation.

The stories were always solidly plotted, and often held surprising twists. Running through three different publishers (Eclipse, Aardvark-Vanaheim, and Renegade), this series lasted fifty issues, with assorted specials and spinoffs.
