Kitz ’n’ Katz by Bob Laughlin began in 1981 in books of daily-type strips such as “Kitz ‘n’ Katz Kaperz” and “Kitz ’n’ Katz Kartoonz.”

Bearing a superficial resemblance to Felix the Cat (although none of the pathos and sense of alienation) Kitz and Katz are one white cat and one black cat—neither knows or cares which one is which. A large part of the simplistic humor stems from the fractured dialogue, replete with words ending in “z” rather than “s,” and the characters’ ability to finish each other’s sentences.
