Two of the most distinct writers and artists in comics got together for this work. The result is a metaphorical montage born of the wordplay and artistic styles, courtesy of its creators, James Kochalka and Craig Thompson. The pair tackle weighty philosophical issues surrounding the universe and the meaning of life, as well as their roles in both. Spirituality, cynicism, hope, and intent wrapped in a package of Christian doctrine and pantheism.

This book is for those that like their comics to make them think. And how. Kochalka and Thompson don’t preach answers, they pose questions and allow themselves to explore, leading to more questions and potential answers.

The duo take turns drawing, often on the same page, creating a balanced layout that flows incredibly well. Some people might balk when they see the comic: It measures 5 x 5 inches. But contained inside is a brave and worthwhile exploration, consistently no-holds-barred and thought-provoking.
