Timeless Tales (Bob Powell’s…)

A World War II story with “Casablanca” overtones, a science-fiction tale with a twist ending, and an account of a modern-day swashbuckler who thwarts the plans of a revenge-minded murderer are the stories selected for this reprint title showcasing the talent of Bob Powell. And yet these are only a few of the myriad stories that he illustrated in his long career. His skill at portraying figures with substance and his deft use of exaggeration to depict facial expressions imparted a genuine Spirit quality to his art. Not coincidentally, Powell got his start in the Will Eisner shop in the 1940s and as late as 1967 contributed to Tales to Astonish and Tales of Suspense for Marvel.

This book from Eclipse culled stories from titles like “The Black Cat” and “Race for the Moon” and presented them as a Bob Powell anthology.
