Disney strikes again bringing its successful made for television animated characters to life in the pages of a monthly comic book. The Disney Afternoon pays homage to the “good ‘ol days” of children’s comics—the days when a book contained multiple stories, heroes were heroes, and primary colors were used like they were going out of style.

The Disney Afternoon shares its interior real estate with Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, Goof Troop and Tale Spin. Each month, the characters from those titles take part in a new, self-contained children’s story that truly does recreate the feeling of a Saturday morning cartoon. Page counts for each story fluctuate, but Darkwing (Disney’s newest addition to its character stable) always gets top billing. While fun for kids, adults will find humor in the antics of some of those familiar faces they grew up with (Goofy and Baloo from the Jungle Book just to name a few).
