What is The Matrix? The Matrix is the computer-simulated world our senses experience while our real bodies sleep, acting as living batteries to the machines. If you don’t get that, then this book isn’t for you.

Set in the world of The Matrix, this book arrived in time to coincide with the DVD release of the second movie and the theatrical release of the third.

Those who can’t get enough of this universe will find a new fix here. Neo and Trinity are nowhere to be seen, although Morpheus makes a few cameo appearances. What we have is a new cast of characters inhabiting both The Matrix and the real world.

Among these are: an artist whose real body wakes up long enough to glimpse the sentinels, influencing her work; a giant removed from The Matrix by our machine masters to perform a special task; an injured freedom fighter trapped in The Matrix without an exit; and others.

Many creators grace this work, from Neil Gaiman to Peter Bagge. There are excellent stories, but they typically involve elements of The Matrix such as objects made of code and déjà vu. If you didn’t get (or didn’t see) any of the movies, you won’t get the comics.
