DuckTales: The Movie

Disney entered the weekday afternoon comic block race with an animated series based on the many adventures that appeared in the Carl Barks stories in Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories and in Uncle Scrooge. Such was the success of these afternoon cartoons that Disney went on to commission a full-length theatrical feature, of which this is the comic book adaptation. Nowadays, such an effort would probably go straight to video, but in the late 80s, a theatrical release was still something to reckon with. The story is not as good as some of the shorter episodes, but with strong homage to Raiders of the Lost Ark, it is definitely watchable and readable.
