Barry Blair, known for his other semi-popular and semi-controversial Elf sagas (notably Elflord) continues the story of his elfin heroes here under the Night Wynd Enterprises imprint. Purebreeze, Falcon and the rest of the scantily clad, pre-pubescent-looking heroes that populate Blair’s books are on yet another quest. This time, the elf mercenaries are making their way across a vast desert, hitching a ride with a traveling merchant. In exchange for their passage, the merchant wants Purebreeze, Falcon and friends to acquire a dragon’s egg for him (such items being, as they are, more valuable than gold). Things almost immediately go awry, as the elves end up slaying a baby dragon and enraging the mother. The storyline here is meant to tie in with Blair’s Elflord the Return, also guaranteed to give you more elf action than you can possibly stand.
