This Prestige Format one-shot introduces the most unlikely super-hero, well, ever; and while it is about a prostitute with super-powers, The Pro is more than a one-trick pony—pun only sort of intended: it’s an hilarious parody of the entire super-hero genre.

Here’s the basic story: an all-powerful alien entity known as the Viewer endows a prostitute with super-powers to prove that even a “soiled dove” can become a hero, and she is offered membership in the League of Honor—a send-up of the ever-noble Justice League of America that boasts the Saint (Superman), the Knight (Batman), the Squire (Robin), the Lady (Wonder Woman), the Lime (Green Lantern), and Speedo (The Flash) among its membership. Conflicts over attitudes and methods emerge—like when the Pro urinates on a fallen foe and when her actions lead to the Saint’s public humiliation. Will the Pro get with the program and adhere to the League’s code of conduct? Will the sexually repressed League ever loosen up?
