Fantasy Masterpieces (Vol. 1)
(Marvel, 1966-1967)
™ and ©1966 Marvel Entertainment Group
Fantasy Masterpieces reprinted some of the great stories from the Golden Age. Here you can find some of the earliest appearances of Captain America, the Red Skull, the All-Winners Squad, and other Golden Age greats. Thrown in with the super-hero stories are a number of monster and science-fiction thrillers from the same period. All of this came wrapped up in a giant-sized comic that sold for the princely price of 25¢. Ah, for the good old days!
With issue #12, Fantasy Masterpieces changed names to become Marvel Super-Heroes (Vol. 1). That title followed much of the same format, but replaced the monster stories with super-hero storylines.
