Writer Greg Rucka, best known for his series of crime novels starring Atticus Kodiak, joins Top Cow’s creator-owned Minotaur imprint with this eight-issue mini-series, developed with artist Matthew Clark. Originally slated to be an ongoing color series, the series became a limited one, with the color palate fading from the full color issue #1 to black-and-white by issue #4.

Felon centers on Cassiday, a beautiful, dangerous grifter who has just “wrapped up a nickel” at Angelika Women’s Correctional. Set up during a job, Cassiday sets out to recover the money owed from her last score, and get revenge on the people that sold her out.

Partially inspired by the Parker novels written by Donald Westlake, that also inspired the 1999 movie Payback with Mel Gibson, Rucka has crafted a story exploring the life of a professional criminal. A life of isolation where you cannot trust anyone, and every action you take is simply to survive.
