Star Wars: General Grievous

Chuck Dixon never fails to spin tales loaded with action and intrigue, and this story is no exception. From the opening battle scene to the unexpected final panel, Dixon delivers a tale that Star Wars fans will enjoy.

While attempting to rescue an ambassador, a group of Jedi encounter General Grievous and countless Jedi and troopers are lost in the confrontation. When a Jedi padawan who escaped the battle addresses the Jedi Council with a plan to assassinate the general, his advice is declined. But when he is later approached by another Jedi who believes that the plan could work, the plot is set in motion—though I think we can all guess how this one will end.

A highlight of this issue is the art. Rick Leonardi draws in a style that seems far from what I remember, but which suits this book perfectly because it takes on an animated look. That animated look is punctuated by the coloring of Lucas Marangon, whose color palette gives each page the feel of an animation cel.
