Part of the seven-part mini-series event, Green Lantern/Firestorm is a one shot comic showcasing several heroes in the DC Universe using the moniker Green Lantern. After encountering a force of potential universal destruction called Oblivion, Earth’s latest ringslinger, Kyle Rayner, enlists the help of several heroes to assist him. The popular DC hero from the 1980s, Firestorm, accompanies a “retooled” Manhunter robot, now a Green Lantern agent, into space in search of a weapon that will stop the mysterious Oblivion. While looking for the weapon, known as the “Omega Option,” Firestorm and the G.L. Manhunter Robot stumble upon a planet being threatened by a super powered being from Firestorm’s past. Meanwhile, the G.L. Manhunter Robot begins to reveal that it may be much more than just an “emotionless machine.” But what about Oblivion? Will Firestorm and the G.L. Manhunter Robot find the “Omega Option” in time? And if so, will it be enough to complete the “circle of fire?”
