Illustrator Shelton Bryant’s pencil shading illustration technique imparts a surprisingly kinetic, atmospheric feeling to this spook story about a woman who consents to becoming impregnated by extra–terrestrials. Bridgitte is a young woman involved with an older man. She wants to have kids; he does not. When she confronts a stranger who has answers to questions she hasn’t asked, Bridgitte finds herself facing choices with startling ramifications. Vaguely creepy and suffused with shades of gray, Ill Conceived is a 28 page one–shot written by T.J. May that might remind readers of The Twilight Zone or The X-Files without Mulder and Scully.
