Zugal is an obscure science-fiction comic from creator Bryan Evans. Medics from the planet Zugal were sent to another world to gather mutants for study. Two mutants, however—a woman with great combat skills and a boy water-sorcerer—resisted and escaped.

Evans uses black-and-white tones in a soft, charcoal style for most of the story, with harder inks to show the world through the eyes of the boy. It’s an interesting look, but the first issue alone can be baffling to new readers, and Evans provides no background information to flesh out the storyline.
