Charlie Chan (Crestwood)
(Crestwood, 1948-1949, 1955-1956)
™ and © Crestwood
Charlie Chan was created by Earl Derr Biggers, as a series of detective novels that starred the Asian sleuth that was loosely based on real life Hawaiian detective, Chang Apana. Chan soon became the star of numerous “B” pictures that proliferated during the 1930s and 40s. He usually was joined on these missions by his “Number One” or “Number Two” sons, and solved the cases using his “fortune cookie” approach to speaking and “Agatha Christie” style of detective work.
