Common Foe

As if war isn’t horrible enough, co-writers Keith Giffen and Shannon Denton unleash an ancient evil on a group of American and German soldiers at the Battle of the Bulge. Minus the demonic creatures, Common Foe is already an engaging tale of World War II. Artist Jean-Jacques Dzialowski and colorist Len O’Grady combine their talents to effectively portray a dangerous environment full of debris, explosions, shrapnel, and muzzle fire. And the script features the typically gung-ho dialogue one expects from soldiers. But Giffen and Denton ratchet up the intensity by forcing the two adversaries to look past their hatred and unite against a common foe in this hybrid war and horror comic.
