Astonishing Spider-Man

Spider-Man is well known in the United Kingdom and thus was born this title, an anthology series that collects and serializes Spider-Man stories from all of his various Marvel Comics titles in America. No ads, either, which can’t be beat. The result is tales culled from “Amazing Spider-Man,” “Spider-Man,” and mini-series like “Spider-Man: The Final Adventure.” And since for a time there were two Webslingers—him and his controversial clone—there are even more stories to choose from. Plenty of guest stars here, too: a typical issue might feature Silver Sable, Sandman, and the Human Torch, among others.

Besides the myriad characters, a collection like this one also features a ton of creators, so in one issue we get to see Mark Bagley, John Romita Jr., and Darick Robertson doing their renditions of Spidey.
