Shadow Empires: Faith Conquers is the latest chapter in Christopher Moller’s epic saga of religion, war, and an deadly subterfuge. It begins as Cotar-Fomas Faith, a royal-born paladin of the church, prepares to assume command of the guard on the fortress world Hotok. This world, like most human-populated ones, had been slowly overrun by the Vaylen—worm-like parasites who control the brains of their human hosts. Cotar-Fomas and his personal soldiers, the Grey Rats, would gladly die rather than let Hotok fall to these terrible “worms.”

Upon arrival, Cotar-Fomas discovers that parasites come in all forms. His predecessor had died under mysterious circumstances, the body found crawling with white crabs. There is also a new cult which had arisen on Hotok whose leaders seem rather too anxious to learn the measure of their new guard captain. On the outland world of Hotok, the enemies travel in many guises…
