Since 9/11, terrorism has become a central plot to many forms of media entertainment – almost a genre in itself in TV shows like Alias, 24, and Threat Matrix. In Heaven’s Devils, however, writer Jai Nitz and artist Zach Howard turn the sub-genre on its ear and present a story that stands out from the terrorism crowd. In a medium sized Mexican city, a deadly virus has been unleashed on the population by a madman bent on cleansing the environment by killing mankind. Now, the US government is racing to stop the threat at any cost while fugitive doctor Alan Wells is also trying to stop the virus and save the people of Nuevo Laredo, using means far less mundane. A classic mix of crime fiction, X-Files-style hocus pocus and fast paced action, Heaven’s Devils is a thrill ride built to last.
