Soul

    (Flashpoint, 1994)
™ and ©1994 Peter M. Caravette

After an unmeasurable time, the Soulkeeper awoke. He stared around the desolate, rat-infested room and wondered who he is, what his purpose is. For answers, he goes out into the city at night. There, he encounters the dark face of crime, evil, and lust. And though he does not even remember his own name, he instinctively knows to stand against the darkness.

The Soulkeeper’s awakening has not gone unnoticed by the forces of the night. A woman named Chaos has gathered her minions Painkiller, Nails, Rabid, and Piecemeal to do battle against her old foe. For in this age, Chaos rules the world, and she’s not about to give it up without a fight.

This title by Peter Caravette and independent Flashpoint Comics debuted in 1994. Its debut issue was a bit of an oddity: a lushly colored comic hiding behind a black-and-white cover.
