There was nothing wrong with the idea, as Marvel would later appropriate it for their X-Babies specials, and the artwork is appealing enough, if lacking in background. No, the problem is in the writing. This X-Men parody goes for the obvious joke every time, most honing in on the prolix tendencies and soul-searching of the source material as it was then. More issues were planned, but none were forthcoming.
