Star is an altruistic man with a mysterious past. He patrols the streets of Chicago, constantly searching out evil. Thought of as a lawless vigilante, his main nemesis is the police officer extraordinary, the Savage Dragon. Star’s weapon of choice is the throwing Shuriken, also known as a throwing star which gave him his nickname.

Erik Larsen’s Star first appeared in three panels of the very first issue of The Savage Dragon mini-series, which Larsen also created. Surprisingly, Star was very popular with the fans, and letters numbering in the hundreds found their way to Larsen’s studios. In June of 1995, nearly three years after his introduction, “Star” premiered in comic stores across the country.
