James Bond 007: Goldfinger
(Titan, 2004)
™ and © 1959-1961 Gildrose Productions, Ltd.
His name is Bond. James Bond.
Ian Fleming’s fictional character has long been established as the epitome of an international spy, and, thanks to Hollywood, is a prominent part of Pop Culture. In addition to novels and films, many of Bond’s adventures were published as serialized comic strips in Britain’s Daily Express.
This collection of those strips features the title story (which chronicles Bond’s clash with a modern–day King Midas who plans to ruin the world’s economy and rule by virtue of his own vast horde of gold), as well as Risico, For Your Eyes Only, From a View to a Kill, and Thunderball, all adapted by Henry Gammidge and artist John McLusky. Also included are an introduction by Shirley Eaton, the movie’s “golden girl”, an article about the Bond phenomenon (or lack of) in Russia, rare and previously unpublished artwork, and a literary timeline by Paul Simpson.
