Howard Chaykin (American Flagg) may not be the first to combine science fiction and crime fiction, but this four-issue limited series from DC’s Vertigo imprint certainly has his distinctive mark on it. At some point in the new millennium, private investigator Vector Pope is skirting the law, some dangerous women, and drug-abusing androids on a man-made planet dominated by religious zealots; his complicated life grows more tangled and twisted as a missing persons case becomes stranger by the minute. How strange, you ask? Well, it involves a zero-gravity sex scene, a prison murder, and a secret held by Pope’s closest friend. The series is co-written by David Tischman and features the artwork of Rick Burchett (Batman: Gotham Adventures).
