Peter David has come up with an interesting take on what could be a difficult character to write. What do you do with a guy that can split himself into infinite different versions through any strong impact? You make him a private eye, that’s what. Jamie Madrox has opened his own private investigation firm and recruited the help of former X-Factor teammates Rahne and Strong Guy. The clever name of the firm? XXX Investigators.

This issue is a good set up to how the series will play out and introduces all the characters and their abilities. It opens with two great scenes that immediately bring you into the story and keep you there, making you want to read more to see what’s actually happened.

This issue also includes the first mystery the group of detectives must solve: Who is trying to kill Madrox? When a duplicate of him arrives at his office bleeding from a stab wound, Madrox reabsorbs him and sees the first clues to finding out where the potential killer might be. Next stop, Chicago.
