More of a soap opera about super-heroes than a team super-hero book Noble Causes follows the triumphs and tribulations of the Noble family. This is no ordinary family, though. The Nobles are all famous super-powered beings, celebrated (and sometimes reviled) in the media, with tons of merchandising, corporate tie-ins and Hollywood-style star status. The Nobles are the equivalent of the Kennedys: the new American royalty. And like the Kennedys, the Noble family’s history is rife with scandal, heartache and even a few moments of genuine nobility. The tragic murder of one of the Noble family in issue #1 promises to be only one of many subplots in this complex story that embraces the best of classic super-hero comics while exploiting the normal human weaknesses of those same heroes. Just like an episode of “Access Hollywood” or “Inside Edition,” Noble Causes digs out the dirt on your favorite costumed celebrities.
