Well, here’s a Korean comic book that’s a vast departure from what we’ve been seeing from Curtis Comics. Maybe it’s because of the strong characters and plot, not to mention the thick, rich color artwork, but Timeseekers seem more “Western” in execution — as in Western Europe. The complicated story and heavily detailed art has a hyper intense Metabarons feel to it (not to mention the black bars at the top of the pages seem to suggest we’re reading a graphic novel that’s been broken down into pieces and shrunk down to comic-book size).

The characters have a strong emotional resonance about them, a palpable melancholy that elevates this high above a simple Timecop variant or role-playing videogame. The only downside here is the translation; while technically superb, it’s frequently obscure where the complicated plot could use clarification — all the various time and space jumps taking place over centuries are sometimes difficult to decipher.
