Loki, the Norse god of Evil, has been promised a great boon by the gods of Asgard, but only if he completes what one might think is an impossible task—he must do a good deed for the people of Earth, and prove himself worthy of their trust.

As the Uncanny X-Men fly through Canadian airspace, their plane is pulled to the ground and they discover, along with the members of Alpha Flight, a wondrous castle where their hearts’ fondest desires come true. Cyclops finds he can control his eye-blasts mentally, and is freed of his hated ruby quartz visor. Rogue is able to touch another human without triggering her terrible power. Puck is freed of his dwarf-like form, and so on…

But all this is the work of Loki, and when the two great super-groups discover the terrible price entailed, they are not so eager to embrace their benefactor.
