In 1988, Now Comics began publishing the first of many comic titles based on the science-fiction blockbuster, “The Terminator.” That epic told of how in August, 1997, a computer defense system called Skynet would gain consciousness and turn on its creators. Within weeks, it had used its control of the nuclear arsenal to all but destroy mankind. Then this machine intelligence began spawning other mechanical creations whose purpose was to annihilate the few human survivors.

By 2031, the leader of humanity, John Connor, was leading his forces toward victory. That’s when Skynet decided to change history and send a killing machine—a Terminator—back through time to kill Connor’s mother Sarah and prevent John from being born. The movie covered Sarah’s struggle for survival, while the eighteen issues of this Now Comics series go back to the future to tell the tale of mankind’s battle against the machines.
