Sharky

Sharky first appeared in the pages of Monster Massacre, an anthology series from Dave Elliott’s Atomeka publishing company. Originally meant as the setup for a comic series that never happened, Sharky didn’t reappear until this 1998 series from Image.

The focus of this title is the interplay between comic book hero Sharky, a brawling bruiser of a guy, able to go toe-to-toe with the Mask, and catch bullets in midair. This tough guy appeals strongly to young Patrick Sharky, who emulates the other Sharky’s style of dress, but lacks the confidence and power of his comic book hero. No, Patrick Sharky is just an average awkward teen…at least he was until the day a rampaging alien and a Norse goddess started a brawl in the middle of the city. Patrick was caught in the inevitable destruction and nearly died. But while he lay in a coma, he got a visit from his hero, who promised him the power to change the world!
