One of the most confusing (in both content and publishing history) of Continuity’s titles. The first few issues of Hybrids: The Origin bore cover titles of Revengers Special, and in fact half of the first issue was reprinted from Revengers #6. The second series was chapters of the “Deathwatch 2000” crossover, and the one-shot a chapter of the “Rise of Magic” crossover. The Hybrids themselves were an extraordinarily unprepossessing bunch of genetically altered people (don’t ask) who revelled in confusing fights with a confusing array of dragons, demons and such-like. Artistically it rarely reached the heights of other Continuity comics, exceptions being the zero issue and the “Rise of Magic” one-shot, both drawn by Mike Deodato before his descent into Image-inspired hackdom. ~DAR
