The Building

    (DC, 2000)
™ and © Will Eisner

In his foreword, Will Eisner writes of his dismay over the destruction of landmarks, because he feels that through their collective psychic memory, they have a kind of soul. In this graphic novel he examines the soul of one old building, as expressed by four individuals who share important connections with the doomed structure. A man trying to help children. A violinist. A woman looking for love. A developer who desires to possess the building at all costs. Together their lives entwine, overlap, and focus on a simple structure.

Writer, artist, storyteller—Eisner’s many talents are on full display here in this touching and bittersweet work. Published by DC Comics.
