Assassinette veers closely to the “bad girl” trend of scantily clad, buxom heroines, this time a sexy blonde with psychic powers, battling her enemies in the landscape of the human mind. The magical imagery recalls the bizarre worlds dreamed up by Steve Ditko on Dr. Strange, but the focus is really on Assassinette’s Baywatch physique. This little-known series quickly vanished into the quarter bins of comics conventions, lost in the glut of female heroes trying to woo male readers with their exposed flesh and provocative poses.
